Apply online to replace your driving licence :Cross Stitch – Motoring

You can replace your current British driving licence online if you:

• have lost your British licence (full or provisional) or it has been stolen, defaced or destroyed
• are a resident of Great Britain
• can meet the minimum eyesight requirement
• are currently not prevented from driving for any reason
• can pay £20.00 by MasterCard, Visa, Electron, Maestro or Delta debit or credit card
• have a valid UK passport or another form of identity
• can provide addresses of where you have lived over the last three years

If your name has changed you will not be able to apply online. To apply to change your name you must apply by post using a D1 application form. For more information on how to change the name on your driving licence please use the link below.

If you wish to renew the photo on your licence as part of your application you must provide a UK passport issued within the last five years.

Please have the following to hand:

• your driving licence number if known
• a valid debit or credit card
• your UK passport if you have one
• your National Insurance number if you have one
• details of previous addresses

DVLA will aim to send your driving licence within two weeks of you submitting your application.
