To remove expired endorsements from your driving licence, you’ll need to apply to exchange your licence for a new one. You can apply by post, or if you hold a paper driving licence, you can use the premium checking service.
Photocard driving licence holder
You will need to enclose:
- your photocard driving licence, paper counterpart and the appropriate fee
- original identity document(s) if your current name is different to that on your driving licence
Paper driving licence holder
You will need to enclose:
- a passport type photo, your paper driving licence and the appropriate fee
- original documentation confirming your identity, or agree to DVLA verifying your identity with the Identity and Passport Service (IPS), if you are a digital passport holder
Send your application, including any necessary documents to DVLA, Swansea SA99 1BU.
Any application you make for a new driving licence will automatically remove expired endorsements from your driving licence.
You can make the following applications online which will remove your expired endorsements:
- change your address details
- renew the photo on your driving licence
- get a replacement if your licence has been lost, stolen, defaced or destroyed
- exchange your paper driving licence to a photocard driving licence
